About Me

Matthew Kieffer is a Canadian artist currently based in Toronto, working primarily in acrylic. He approaches painting as a way to examine places, moments, and people, using colour and composition to explore questions that invite reflection. Matthew began painting in high school to fulfill a mandatory course requirement, and was later awarded his school's Arts Bowl for excellence in the arts.

He continued his training through visual studies courses at the University of Toronto, while pursuing a BA in International Relations and Economics. Matthew currently works as an investment analyst at a Canadian pension plan. His artistic practice continues to serve as a space for self-reflection and inquiry.
